Thomas Coates (Patrick’s great grandfather on the right) came from London, England to the United States as a young man.

He lived in Lead Mine, Wisconsin and worked as a baker.

He later owned three bakeries with his son Arthur Albert Coates (Patrick’s grandfather).

The bakeries were located in (Rolla, MO., Heavener, OK, and Oklahoma City in 1901).

Thomas Coates died in Oklahoma City in 1910.

Thomas’ son Arthur Albert Coates born October 4, 1878 in Lead Mine Wisconsin worked at all three bakeries and owned and operated a bakery in Geary, OK (40 mile west of Oklahoma City).

Arthur Albert Coates died in 1967.

John Coates, MD (Patrick’s father) born in 1925 in Geary, OK, was the son of Arthur Albert Coates and worked as a neurosurgeon in Tulsa at St. Francis Hospital until his retirement in 2001.
